Glyphosate

Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum, systemic, contact action, translocated and non-residual herbicide that kills plants by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme 5-enolpyruvylshikimic
acid-3-phosphate synthase (EPSP), which is necessary for the formation of the aromatic
amino acids tyrosine, tryptophan, and phenylalanine. These amino acids are important in the synthesis of proteins that link primary and secondary metabolism.
Glyphosate is applied to foliage. It is absorbed by leaves and rapidly moves through the plant. Glyphosate prevents the plant from producing amino acids that are the building blocks of plant proteins. The plant, unable to make proteins, stops growing and dies.
2,4-D
HRAC O: WSSA 4; Phenoxy herbicide; Phenoxy PGR; Phenoxyacetic herbicide; Auxin PGR.
2,4-D is a selective, systemic, absorbed through roots and increases biosynthesis and production of ethylene causing uncontrolled cell division and so damages vascular tissue.
It is an “auxin mimic” or synthetic auxin. This type of herbicide kills the target weed by mimicking the plant growth hormone auxin (indole acetic acid), and when administered at effective doses, causes uncontrolled and disorganized plant growth that leads to plant death.
Application Method
Application timing: Apply JEMBE STAR 500 SL during land preparation or when minimum/zero tillage practice is applied to clear all weeds.
JEMBE STAR 500 SL is non selective post emergence herbicide design to control even the most resistant weeds biotypes on the fields to facilitate easier land preparation or planting /sowing when minimum tillage is applied.
