Mode of Action

BIOGRADE 300 SL formulated from high purity tea saponin is a unique natural tea extract-based insecticide/molluscicide especially for high value-added organic vegetables, rice and tea.

Tea saponins have potency to be used as natural insecticides. They exert a strong insecticidal activity against a broad range of insect types and stages.

Already at sublethal concentrations, saponins lower the food intake of the insects, thereby reducing the damage done to the crops. Also, it is important not only for protecting plants against insect pest damage, but even more so to prevent transmission of insect mediated diseases.
BIOGRADE 300 SL has a stomach poisoning effect directly killing pests, exerting a repellent/deterrent activity, bearing digestive problems, provoke insect moulting defects, and causes cellular toxicity effects.

As a consequence, these interesting plant components open new strategies to protect crops in modern agriculture and horticulture with integrated pest management (IPM) programs against pest insects, either by spraying, or by selecting high-saponin varieties of commercial crops

Application Guide

Apply at the first sign of pests. Full spray coverage on crop foliage and stem, and field ground. 3 applications per season.
