Ranger® 480EC

Ranger® 480EC is a non-systemic contact and stomach insecticide for foliar and stem application that is active against a range of insects widely used in agriculture for controlling insect pests. It is also used as termiticide for termites in construction buildings and fruit trees.

Mode of Action

Chlorpyrifos (organophosphate group) works by blocking an enzyme which controls messages that travel between nerve cells. When the enzyme is blocked, the nervous system can’t send normal signals, which causes the nervous system to malfunction, eventually killing the pest.

Application Guide

To control aphids, thrips, and whitefly on roses, apply 1.5 -2 ml per litre of water at first signs of pest attack.

Carry a sensitivity test on a few plants particularly on roses. Repeat applications on a 7-14 day intervals for maximum 3 applications per seasons.

To control Thrips, Berry borer and Antestia bugs on Coffee, apply 2 ml per litre of water at the first sign of pest attack and repeat when necessary. Ensure thorough wetting of the plant. Repeat applications on a 7-14 days interval for maximum 3 applications per season.

To control termites on construction wood, apply 3 ml per litre of water   and spray the construction wood and adjacent soil thoroughly.

To control Termites on fruit trees, apply 10 – 20 ml per litre of water and drench at the base of a tree followed by irrigating enough water, depending on severity of termite infection.

Ranger® 480EC is compatible with most commonly used pesticides and liquid fertilizers and is non-phytotoxic when used as recommended. However, a compatibility test is advisable before mixing commercial quantities or spraying a large area.
