Mode of Action
CANTONA 230 EC is a contact protectant fungicide and bactericide. Copper abietate, the active ingredient, works by:
Enzyme Inhibition: Binding strongly to amino acids and carboxyl groups in pathogens, it interferes with vital enzymatic processes.
Spore Germination Block: Spores absorb copper, and its interaction with sulfhydryl enzyme groups prevents their germination.
Cellular Disruption: Acts directly on fungal and bacterial cells by destabilizing membranes and metabolic functions.
Special Focus: Copper Abietate in Fruit Farming
Disease Management: Offers excellent control of Phytophthora, downy mildew, leaf spots, and bacterial blights.
Nutritional Value: Supports plant metabolic functions by correcting copper deficiencies that may hinder crop performance.
Crop Safety: Gentle on crops when used as recommended, with minimal risk of phytotoxicity.
Application Guide
The first application before infection, when the weather is favorable to development of diseases, apply the following applications on a 10 day interval period. Maximum 3 applications per season.
For crown Galls in roses, the galls are initially injured then sprayed ensuring that the galls are properly covered at a maximum of four applications at an interval of 7 days
Why CANTONA 230 EC?
- Dual Protection: Combines fungicidal and bactericidal power for maximum disease control.
- Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Effective against major diseases like Phytophthora root rot, anthracnose, bacterial blight, and many more.
- Protective Barrier: Forms a residual film on plant surfaces, preventing spore germination and pathogen entry.
- Micronutrient Boost: Supplies essential copper micronutrients, supporting healthy plant growth, photosynthesis, and enzyme function.
- Versatile Use: Ideal for use in fruit crops like avocado, mango, citrus, vegetables, and ornamentals.
- Environmentally Friendly: Copper abietate is biodegradable and has a lower environmental impact compared to many synthetic chemicals.
