Mode of Action

By binding to the sodium channels, Pyrethrin prevent them from closing properly after they open, leading to prolonged depolarization of nerve cell membranes. This causes continuous and repetitive nerve impulses, resulting in over excitation of the insect’s nervous system. The consequences of this over excitation are paralysis and eventual death of the insect.
